Harper the Helper

Kyle has always called Harper a "little helper."  Since she could army crawl, she has been picking trash things up off the floor and handing them to us to throw away.  (I try to discourage this at places like Target or Chic-Fil-A:)).  She loves to help with the laundry.  I usually let her put all the clothes from the washer into the dryer and push the buttons.  And lately she has just wanted to hang around when I'm loading/unloading the dishwasher.  This secretly thrills me because someday she will be old enough to really help around the house:)  Today, she went to the cabinet, got a Tupperware with a matching lid and started putting her messy Cheerios from the coffee table into the container (one-by-one:)).

She, of course, had to snack on a few in the process:)
I know it's just because she's my kid, but I am seriously amazed by every little thing she does.

Excuse the snot in this pics.  We've been dealing with that a lot lately.  Does anyone know about babies and allergies?  I'm not convinced the congestion isn't from cedar.

Now that Harper is getting older, I'm trying to find more things for us to get out of the house and do.  Last Monday we went to "Baby Bloomers" at the Austin Children's Museum.  It's was a lot of fun, but it got really busy pretty quickly.  I'm hoping it was so busy because it was a holiday.
Still trying to wake up:)

Harper and Dove

She loved this little room with the crib in it and kept backing up into the wall!?!

Sweet Dovie.

Building blocks!

We had a great time and always love hanging out with Marion and Dove!

It has been unseasonably warm around here lately, so we've been able to play outside quite a bit.  And we finally found a park that has baby swings (although Harper isn't really a fan yet).

Tomorrow, we're going to try out one of those kids' gyms with some friends, so we'll see how Harpy likes that.  Any other ideas?

Hope everyone has a good week!

  1. At this rate, she'll be clearing the table and putting dishes in the dishwasher by age 4! I'd definitely encourage the "helping" if I were you, ha!
